groups, a youth choir, and regular children’s sermons

Our History
St. Luke’s was founded in 1929. Our church family is a rich mixture of young
and experienced Lutherans from Dunellen and the surrounding communities. We are
growing rapidly, with an average Sunday attendance of over 100 people. The
vigorous Sunday School averages 45 students each Sunday morning.
Visitors are often surprised by how warm and friendly the congregation is,
without being pushy.
The church offers many opportunities for participation, including the Senior
Choir and Junior Choir, Bible studies, Men’s Group, Women’s Group, Couple’s
Group, a sewing and craft group, a hospitality program to assist the homeless,
and a number of other groups and committees.
From our Pastor
The word "church" means many different things. A church is a place to worship
God, a place to hear the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed in
word and in deed. A church is also a place to nourish you and challenge you in
your own spiritual search.
St. Luke’s is a community of people who care for each other and try to reach
beyond their own selfishness to help others in need. Our church is a place where
children can be strengthened in their knowledge and moral foundations.
We encourage you to visit us, if you have not already done so. We hope to
meet you soon.
